During the presentation of a report by the strategy committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Professor Jerry Gana, a former Minister of Information, said that the party (PDP) is currently discussing with seven different political parties for potential alliance ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The former minister expressed hope that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) will be defeated in the 2019 general elections.
According to Gana, the outreach to the parties “yielded positive responses from seven people-focused and social democratic parties.”
He however noted that the alliance will not become a mega party as being rumoured in the media but will instead be “a separate and highly principled initiative of the PDP.”
