White House confirms Trump's telephone conversation with Nigerian President

White House spokesman said Trump spoke with Buhari of Nigeria and Jacob Zuma of South Africa on Monday.

US President Donald Trump has confirmed his telephone conversation with President Muhammadu Buhari.

On Monday, February 13, the Nigerian Presidency released a statement highlighting the discussion that ensued between  Buhari and Trump.
Confirming the telephone conversation between the two Presidents, the White House Press Secretary and Communications Director, Sean Michael Spicer, in his introduction of Tuesday’s White House Press Briefing, mentioned that Trump spoke with Buhari of Nigeria and Jacob Zuma of South Africa on Monday.
He added that the US President also received the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau on the same day.


Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, had said that the Buhari-Trump conversation was cordial, adding that Trump invited the President to Washington at a mutually convenient date.
Adesina said the US President also commended Buhari for his efforts in ensuring the rescue of 24 of the abducted Chibok school girls and the strides being taken by the Nigerian military.
